DOST opens oneSTore hub to public, private entity

The Department of Science and Technology is now seeking for oneSTore hubs regionwide as it opened the door to public and private entities who are willing to engage in the e-commerce platform.

E-commerce is the buying and selling of goods and services, or transmitting of funds or data over an electronic network, primarily the internet. These business transactions occur business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to-consumer or consumer-to-business.

Engr. Jonathan Nuestro, Provincial Science and Technology Director of DOST II said, this aims to help DOST-assisted Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) widen the scope of their target market and promote quality products thru oneSTore, an e-commerce web application that operates nationwide and caters primarily to Philippine consumers.

"Proponent's location should be within urban area and has a warehousing facility of at least 20 square meters with readily available computer and internet access of 24/7", he added.

Furthermore, the entity owner should be willing to manage oneSTore hub account, assist DOST in monitoring and evaluating the hub, transact business with courier companies endorsed by the DOST, respond to orders within 24 hours of placement and especially carry out payment process and delivery.

Through the existence of oneSTore regional hub, the transactions of orders will be made easier building relevant information to facilitate E-marketing of MSMEs and help increase income not only the MSMEs beneficiaries but also qualified entity.

Ricardo Nolasco Jr., owner of Hannah’s Beach Resort and Convention Center in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte passed away on Wednesday evening, July 11, 2018.
